Next gen iPod nano and iPod touch cases

ipod-cameraWe all have heard a lot that the next batches of iPod nano and iPod touch would have cameras. Chinese manufacturers are out again with cases meant for the unannounced devices either to tease our curiosity or to expose Apple’s top product secret.

The manufacturers seems to be darn sure that Apple would be launching new iPod touch and iPod nano in September with cameras on both. These bunch of Chinese guys are shipping samples and are even ready to take orders from US retailers. That’s a bold and a smart move huh!

One weird observation about the cases; the hole for the camera lens is placed in the center instead of the right side that we see on the iPhone lines.

Well, this is not the first time we see cases being produced even before Apple announce their device. We saw dozens of iPhone nano cases during Macworld Expo 2009, which all had to be shelved when Apple did not launch the device. That was a good mind teaser.

We’ll have to wait a couple of months to see whether all these cases are authentic or just another wasted guess work.

I have the 2nd generation iPod Touch and the only thing I would like to see added is a camera. I have no pressing need (there is a want) for constant connectivity. My office, home, and local café have Wi-Fi and that works well enough for me. With the addition of a camera I would be able to take those “around town” photos without the need to carry around my Nikon.
