The first thing that struck me about Sea Battle Classic Lite was the clean lines. It has stayed very authentic to the paper version, and the layout resembles the same interface. If you were one of those lil kids hooked on Sea Battle once upon a time, then this new game on the iPhone should make you one happy user.  

Let us rehash the rules one more time to refresh your memory, or just in case you were one of the kids who never played the game.

You are in charge of ten military ships of various sizes. The battlefield is a 10×10 square, and both you and your enemy have to place your ships there. You cannot see each other’s ships, and that is the tricky part.

You take turns to shoot, and victory goes to the player who sinks his opponent’s ships first. When you damage the enemy’s ship, you get an extra shot at his ships. 

As commander of your fleet of ships, you can decide where to place them on the field. Go vertical or horizontal depending on what your military instincts tell you. Just make sure that you avoid the enemy’s ships and the corners of the field. 

Sea Battle Classic gives you the options of playing with the computer or with another friend on the same Wi-Fi connection. The developers say that there is a Bluetooth multiplayer version on the way. I say, the more, the merrier. 

The battle sounds add to the spirit of the game, as also the vibration when you sink one of the enemy’s ships. There is never a dull moment in this game; after all, we are at war!
