Aqua Globs; fun game on the iPhone
I really dislike having to use this word to describe any game, but I can’t help but say that this game is cute. Or it may be the colorful globs that are cute. Whatever it is, something makes Aqua Globs work, whether it is the cuteness factor or otherwise.
And even though it’s fun to play a game with multiple features, sometimes the simplicity of a game can add to its appeal. There are orange and blue globs which roam aimlessly on the screen. We, as the all-knowing controlling factor, have to join them by drawing a line using our finger between two similarly colored globs.
Once we have joined two orange or blue globs together, they form bigger globs which we can join with other bigger globs. We have to be careful that an orange and blue glob does not bump into each other, for we lose a life then. We are given only three lives, and so we better make each life count.
It’s evident that the blue and orange globs don’t like each other, and so comes along a peacemaker in the form of green globs. The green globs can join a glob of any other color or size.
The pace gets faster and the very soon the whole screen is swarming with globs, so keep your cool and keep them in line. See if your glob-ing skills are good enough to beat your friends’ or online scores. You can also win trophies as you score more and play longer.
If you find the original pace too slow, you can increase the speed by setting it to 2x or 3x fast forward mode. Aqua Globs has another plus point that I look for in a game, and that is the pause option. So be assured that after answering a call or some other disturbance, you won’t find the globs all running into each other and committing suicide. You can also play your own music or stick to the game sounds.
Overall, I stand by my ‘word’ that this game is cute. The developers have said it themselves: ‘simple and cute graphics’. Aye, aye!
