Parachute Panic Lite promises plenty of fun on the iPhone
Are stick figures and paper visuals the latest fad in the App Store? Think Passage Control, Cartoon Wars, Sea Battle Lite, iDork and you will know what I mean. So when I came across Parachute Panic Lite, I was hoping that it won’t fade away into blank and white.
In Parachute Panic Lite, we have to guide stick figure parachutists safely onto boats. To do this, we have to swipe anywhere on the screen; the motion controls the wind direction. A tap on the falling parachutist opens his parachute.
But all is not hunky-dory in parachute world. Blow a misguided gust of wind, and the parachutist will fall right into a shark’s jaws in the sea. You also need to watch out for the choppers and UFOs and lightning clouds. Blast them into oblivion with 3 taps in easy mode, and with 5 taps in the normal mode.
You have five lives displayed by five smileys at the top of the screen, as also your current and best score. I wonder if there are levels of game play; didn’t find the info in the instructions.
The lite version is a breeze. I got through it in my second try at the game, before the inevitable ‘Buy the full version’ alert stopped me. I’m hoping the full paid version will be more challenging. Even the lite version does get a lil busier towards the end when you have multiple parachutists and boats, but it could do with more action.
The graphics are appealing; the rapidly flailing arms of the parachutist just before hitting the water are comical. The sounds enhance the game play, and the shark adds a nice touch at the end.
Parachute Panic Lite is a good though very less appetizer, hope the main course does not disappoint.
