This is a game that screams ‘no mercy!’ There are no strategies or bulky weapons to hamper your blood rage; just tap and it’s all over. Pools of Blood is a tower defence game, but without all the shenanigans that accompany such games.
There is just you and your tower, and of course, the orcs which you have to destroy and dissolve into a pool of blood. Squish some orcs together, and your score shoots up as you get bonus points.
But Pools of Blood wouldn’t be the high-adrenaline rush game it is without the music. And we are not talking about just any music here, but Karnivool’s ‘Set Fire to the Hive’. The Australian band’s music adds an extra edge of excitement to the game. It makes you want to gnash your teeth and go trampling on the orcs all over the place.
You can compare your scores with the rest of the world and see who can boast of shedding more bloodshed. Keep trying to beat your own score too; we might just be discovering that there is a hidden blood monsters lurking inside us.
There are three game modes that we can choose; orc over easy, orcslaught, and black orc down. The modes vary in the speed and number of orcs that keep coming at the tower.
Pools of Blood is a winner cos of the simplicity of the game. There is no denying that part of the joy of tower defence games is the add ons in the form of troops and weapons, but this game is for those times when you just want to shed blood. So let’s get tapping on orcs and head banging to Karnivool on the iPhone.
