If someone had told me that I would be engrossed staring at egg yolk as if my life depended on it, I would have called him wacko. Well, I’m not just staring at it, but trying to balance it using great powers of concentration and super-sensitive motor skills. You see, I’m playing EggRunner.
First off, this game has amazing real-life graphics. The egg looks good enough to eat, and the bugs gross enough to make you want to stop eating the egg. The game is based on a very simple rule – keep the egg safe. You can control its natural movement using the iPhone as an accelerometer. As for the pesky bugs, a swipe across the screen makes them vanish into bug-afterlife.
There are two game modes that we can choose from; challenge and time trial. The first one has a series of challenges lined up, such as balancing two eggs or playing on a more slippery surface. Time trial is about how long we can keep the egg from falling off. Our trials are automatically saved, so we always keep track of our times and try to better it.
When we have such an important mission on hand, it is only natural that we should want to swipe anyone who disturbs us like those bugs. But for the sake of humankind, the game comes with an option to pause it by double tapping on the screen.
5th Floor Productions have announced that they will be coming up with online achievements and high scores soon. Very well, for I am so ready to be the world’s best egg runner. Out of the way, you bugs!
