Guess The News makes headlines on the iPhone

It’s got all the top news headlines in it, and perhaps that is why it is such a top word game. Guess The News is a word based game where to have to figure out the news from sources like MTV, The Onion, CNN, CBS, etc.

We have several news sections to choose from such as Top Stories, Nation, International, Business, Entertainment, and others. Once we have chosen the section we want to play, we get to read a short description about the article. That should give us a clue as to the headline; we simply have to drag and drop the letters to their right slots, or double tap on the selected letter.

It is a good idea to guess the shorter words first. Also, the game play gets easier because both the word and the matching letters are highlighted. Once we guess an article correctly, we move on to the next one, and eventually we are awarded with a trophy.

Guess The News has three difficulty modes with slightly varying game plays. In the medium difficulty mode, the vowels are also highlighted. The hard difficulty mode is a little tougher with the highlighted letters belonging to more than one word. The easy mode is as easy as it should be.

The game also gives us the options of Classic and Timed modes. The former has no time limit, but in the latter, we have to guess the news correctly within the given time period.

To get a regular news feed, internet connection is needed. If we come across a news article that interests us enough to read more, we can do that by tapping on the Read button.
