Climb your way to fun with Rock Climber on the iPhone

rock-climber Ahh! This is such a nice break from playing all those puzzle and word games. Rock Climber is a game where we just have to tilt our hand left and right to move up the mountain. Yup, rock climbing never came this easy, or with so much fun.

A single tap on the screen sets the climber scrambling up the rock. There are spikes on the mountain surface which he can grab onto to climb up, and we have to steer him correctly to them. Once we get to the top of the mountain, we can climb on to another level. All the levels have different mountain surfaces, and progressively become tougher.

There are several power-ups to ease the climb, and we come across these items along the way. We need to upgrade them for each of them has their own important use. The rope can save us from a death-fall, while points are gathered with each ice-axe. The watch gives us extra time, and the boots make our jumps more effective.

We score points according to how fast we climb, as well as how many of these bonuses we manage to gather. Rock Climber has real smooth graphics and a nice layout. The OpenFeint feature makes it more interesting too.

I can’t think of a better way to clamber up a mountain in the comfort of my own home. Just tilt, tilt, tilt and I am almost there!
