Explore Mayan culture with Mezopuzzle on the iPhone
This is the second puzzle game from Avallon Alliance Ltd. that I am reviewing in three days. I think I shall christen them as the king of puzzles games for now, until another worthy developer comes along. Napsters was cute and amusing, but Mezopuzzle is a different ball game altogether.
In this game, we are researchers out on a Mayan legend quest. The interface is laid out like a wall which portrays Mayan paintings, but being ancient, it has broken into bits and pieces. So our mission is to reconstruct the wall so that we can get to the heart of the legend.
There are three legends with ten levels each, i.e. ten paintings. Completing one painting takes us to the next, and there is narration to accompany each one. The wall blocks can be moved in all four directions, and also together if possible.
Check this out - The story in the game is actual mythology, so that’s some history lesson for us. Mezopuzzle has amazing graphics, and the Mayan culture has been brought out to the fore. The best part about it has got to be the concept, and the developers have used it well to spice up an otherwise could-be boring game.
The only down part to it is that it is not enough; more levels would be welcome, for the existing ones don’t take too long to complete. After all, who can have enough of a good thing?
