Heads roll and how in this game! The thought of headhunting itself may sound gross, but thankfully we don’t have to do the chopping or cutting or whatever action involved in it. What we have to do in Headhunter is to pile up all the heads in a shrine for the pride of our tribe.

Each level requires a certain number of heads to be enshrined within the time limit. We don’t get to the big game at first go. We have to complete levels or gather together three or more heads of the same kind before we get to unlock more scoring heads.

We don’t just drag the heads but throw them, so it takes some aiming skill too. To throw, we have to press and then drag the heads. We can add some magic by tilting to change the direction of a head and tapping to release magic bursts that make the heads bounce. We can also zoom in and out by double tapping anywhere on the screen.

There is a section where we can the heads that we have gathered, so that should do for some morbid pride. There is not a lot really in the way of features, but it is the game play that is challenging. It gets some practice to get used to the controls, but once we get started, we really can’t keep from wanting to add more heads to our pile.

Headhunter scores big because of the graphics. And of course, the concept itself. Where else can we play around with shrunken heads and not dirty our hands? Overall, a cool game that is great to kill some time, and some heads.
