This game sticks to one like a burr, but in a good way. It is really addictive and hard to put down once you start playing it. Storm Attack is based on the lines of Tetris and Bejeweled, and has all the charm and excitement of these much loved games.
But the blocks come much faster and stronger in here; in fact it is raining blocks all over the place. We have to drag and stack blocks of the same color together to burst them. There are blocks of red and yellow colors.
The game is varied in terms of the points scored when blocks are burst, and it all depends on how much ammo we have. If we destroy 1-5 blocks, we lose one ammo, but if we destroy 6-9 blocks, the ammo is untouched. We can increase our ammo by one count when we destroy more than 10 blocks. We need the ammo to destroy more blocks, so we need to have a constant supply of it.
There are also bonuses to make the game play in Storm Attack more exciting. Clearing the field of all same-colored blocks gives triple points, while clearing the field of all the blocks gives triple points. We also get a 25% bonus if we clear a row of blocks. Put all the three conditions together, and it makes one bumper bonus treat.
And now the icing on the cake about Storm Attack – It is the storm itself. The storms strike the playing field every one minute and bring with them a torrent of falling blocks. The trick is to prepare ourselves for the deluge by stocking up on as much ammo as we can so that we can clear the field.
But in case we are raring for more action and find the periods between the storms too dull, we can shake the device and create a small storm to bring down more blocks. There are 35 achievements to be gunning for, so that gives the game a competitive edge.
Storm Attack has great graphics and a game play to match it. I won’t want to be anyone who is not playing the game, for they are sorely missing out on a fantastic one.
