Lucky Me Lite is a fun way to test luck on the iPhone

No more dragging myself out of bed bleary-eyed to check the morning paper for my horoscope for the day. Or waiting with bated breath while an all-knowing friend tries to read my luck from the cards. Forget about crystal balls; I am not going anywhere near some clairvoyant murmuring mumbo-jumbos.

For now I have Lucky Me Lite to tell me exactly how lucky I am, or not. This application from Emantras Inc has a series of games which we can play to test our luck. I’m trying to make my own interpretation here, but maybe we make our own luck after all, for we have to use all our wit to up our lucky meter.

The games are fun, and each one is different from the others. The developers have cleverly used various control motions on the iPhone; they are actually all there – shake, tap, pinch, slide, and more. We can choose to play either the Quick Luck or Feelin Lucky modes. The former, as it says, is a quick run through some games, while the latter has 7 games lined up.

First thing, we get to customize the application after our own names. It feels so much better to see a Lucky Yoyo on the screen, and so it is with a brave heart that I plunge into the games head first. In the first activity, we have to shake 20 apples off a tree by shaking the iPhone. But it is not that every shake brings an apple down from the tree. I even had a misfortune of having a toilet seat fall down. Anyway, on to the next one. In the next game, we are presented with three doors which we have to slide open five times to see how many times can we find a treasure chest.

The third game is on the similar lines of the previous one. Here we have to pinch open oysters to get as many pearls as we can, depending on luck and a lil bit of speed. In the next activity we have to tap on leds placed in a row and try to find the green ones.

As for the last three games, I will leave them for you to find out and enjoy. I’m afraid I am not very lucky though. Lucky Me said that if I put a clover into my mouth, it will probably turn poisonous. How’s that for some twisted humor? But I am not going to give up but slide, tap, shake and replay the games faster and more smartly.

Lucky Me Lite has fantastic graphics and excellent activities. On the days when we get lucky, we can shout it out on Facebook. We also get a lucky charm if we score above 50%. One thing is for sure, I sure got lucky coming across this app!
