Race in space with Space Track on the iPhone

space-trackSpace Track takes racing out of the world and into space. The 3D graphics are slick and well done and makes for exciting game play.

It is a relief that there is no furious tapping on buttons to control the space ship. We have to simply tilt the iPhone in the direction we want it to go. So to move it sideways we have to tilt either to the right or left. Tilting the device forward makes it go faster and vice versa if we tilt it backwards. Space Track require tapping only to jump, and this can be done anywhere on the screen.

As in all racing games, the goal here is to finish a certain track in the best time possible. And to do that, we need to take care that our ship does not fall off the track and crash into space. The ship also has to be in good condition, and that means keep it fueled up. The finish line in this game is a tunnel, and that signals that we move on to another track. I found out the hard way that even crashing against the tunnel can make us lose the game.

In Space Track, I like the fact that we don’t need to drag any fuel power-ups; there are fuel tracks the come at regular intervals. The longer we halt at the fuel track, the more fuel we get. The fuel indicator shows how much fuel we have, and so we need to keep an eye on it while doing our crazy maneuvering.

The track is not limited to just one planet in space. We get to explore 54 different tracks on six planets as we progress through the game. But it does not come so easy, for we have to win not one but 6 medals to do that; one gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

The game play is the trump card in Space Track. The track is full of surprises with sudden gaps and obstacles to avoid. And there is always the adrenaline rush of a racing game to keep egging us on. It’s definitely a game that you won’t want to put down till all the six planets are conquered.
