Balloon Filler is a simple filler game; iPhone application review

ballon-fillerI had reviewed a filler game a few days back, and when I came across this one I was curious to see what it’s like. I always like to compare games of the same genre and see which the better one is, or just to see the difference.

Balloon Filler, I found out, is much simpler than Brim. There are no varied shapes here but only blue balloons to fill the screen up with. Otherwise it works in quite the same way; touch the screen to create balloons and inflate them. There are the mandatory enemy balls which pop the balloons on contact. They keep on bouncing all over the screen, so we need to be careful in avoiding them. Also, since these are balloons they float up and don’t stay fixed.

The levels come with a certain number of lives and balloons that we can use. Any extra balloon that we use beyond the specified number takes away a life. Our game is up if we run out of lives. As we go on to more levels, we are bombarded with more bouncing balls to keep away from.

On the whole, Balloon Filler is a nice little game. It may not have a lot of features like Brim, but it has been well done. It does miss out on the excitement that Brim offers with more variations, but if we are looking for a simple and uncluttered game to pass time, then Balloon Filler can fill in that need very well.
