Know it all with MovieDNA on the iPhone
If you are a movie buff, you shouldn’t be missing out on this one. And even if you are not, MovieDNA is a great way of getting in the know of any movie or actor that we are interested in. A simple search in the provided tabs for either Movie or Actor/Director throws up a hoard of information that would take a lot of effort and time otherwise.
I first tried looking for an actor and was quite impressed with the array of information such as Filmography, Images, Twitter opinion, Videos, plus views on Netflix.com and IMDB.com. I found that following the links were not much of a help, because the screen is a little too small to check it out in depth.
When I tried looking for a movie, I found a description of it, movies along the lines of it, Images, talk about it on Twitter, the Cast, Reviews and Videos. It also has a separate segment for scores from Netflix, Rotten Tomatoes and Yahoo! Movies, and a combined DNA score based on all three of them.
One cool feature about MovieDNA is that it enables us to directly tweet and mail images and other details from it. And for easy access to our favorite actors and movies, we can add them to the Favorites List. The application has a pleasant looking interface that is easy to navigate, and it comes in three color themes; New Purple, Basic Black and Classic Pink.
There is a Best & Popular button that takes us directly to the movies. These are movies with the top 100 DNA score, and it also shows how many times they have been viewed. This list is generated by MovieDNA users, which means that any movie that we search for is added to the list too.
For $1.99, MovieDNA is a good deal for all the information it gives us at our finger tips. We can check out the lite version, but I say shelling out some money and getting rid of the ads is more practical. The paid version also has some features that is missing out in the lite version. Now let me see what is the DNA score of my favorite movie…
