It’s a tapping marathon with Zepi on the iPhone
Tap, tap, tap…and tap again, as fast as we can. That’s the basic game play in Zepi. But surprisingly, a game with an otherwise very-simple premise is fun and engrossing. Maybe it is the bright colors, or the chains that we create out of bubbles, or the multiple themes, or all of them put together, but Zepi is good fun for a quick game or more.
However, it does not mean that we can take all the time in the world to tap on the bubbles. We have to be really fast with our fingers to tap on bubbles of the same color in order to create chains out of them. Once we create a chain successfully, the bubbles blow up and disappear from the screen. The longer the chain, the more points we score.
The bubbles also tend to fill up the screen very fast, so our fingers have to move at lightning speed (Well, at least we can try). There are three themes that we can choose from – Cold, Bugs and Vivid. We don’t need to start a game over to change the theme, but can do so in the midst of game play. I personally prefer the Bugs theme (That’s the picture I have uploaded). There is something nice about seeing bugs vamoose from the screen; sort of like squishing them with my fingers.
If we have to pause sometime while playing, we can do so by holding down the button in the middle of the screen for some time. This takes us to the main menu, and we can resume the game whenever we want to. The game uses the accelerometer nature of the iPhone, so we can angle it and play according to our will.
Zepi is not without a challenge; we can tap our way to the world champion title by getting on top of the global scoreboard. Or if that is too tall an order at first, we can complete on the local chart.
This game might not be meant for gamers who are looking for an adrenaline rush, but it is perfect to pick up anytime and play, especially on the go. OstinGames have priced it at only $0.99, and Zepi is quite a steal at that rate.
