If someone had told me sometime back that I would be fascinated with twisting my finger on the screen of an iPhone, then I would have simply rolled my eyes. That is until Twistum cane rolling my way. This puzzle game from phuong vo actually gets us twisting baskets and not fingers, but guess it is more or less the same, as we twist those baskets with our fingers. Let me stop going round in circles here and set forth to explain the twists and turns in the game.

In Twistum, there are three fruit baskets at the bottom of the screen, and we have to catch the falling fruits in them. We cannot do this randomly, but make sure that the right fruits fall into the right basket. There are apple, bananas and grapes to catch, colored according to the fruit color, so that makes things easier for us. But not too easy, for we have to be really quick with our fingers.

We can move the baskets to the correct position by swiping them from left to right and vice versa. The first few levels are not too tough to tackle, but things heat up soon as the fruits drop faster. There are quite a few surprises in store too. For instance, sometimes the fruits fall with a giant leaf covering them, so we don’t know which type they are until the last moment. And when a monkey is in the picture, we can be sure that he is up to some mischief. He does stand true to his reputation, and confuses our game with bombs and changing fruits.

Twistum has a leaderboard too to spice things up. The graphics are well-done and the music complements it perfectly. I only wish that we didn’t have to go back all the way to level one, but carry on from the level where we failed.

I’m hooked on this game presently, and it’s got me twisted around its finger, or should I say, got all my fingers twisted? Go grab it while it is still off at 50%.
