Who Said It keeps us guessing on the iPhone
Perk up your ears and listen up for this one. Who Said It from Storyboard Solutions tests our hearing and recognition abilities, and our guessing talent too, if I may put it that way. What we can do with it is listen to a 10 minute clip of a person speaking, and then try to guess the age and gender. It works on a simple Play and Submit format.
We score points according to whether we guessed the gender correctly, and how close we were to guessing the correct age. So we don’t have to be bang-on the exact age to garner some points. And since it is not very difficult to make out the gender, we can always be assured of at least 2 points to our credit.
But the age factor can be a little tricky. When I heard a raspy voice saying ‘Hi’ a couple of times, I pictured an old grandmother, but she turned out to be a 17 year old! Doesn’t say much for my people-reading ability, does it? But here is a tip; try listening to what the person says, and not just what he/she says too.
The cool bit kicks in with the feature to record our own voices and let other people guess our age and gender. There are two tabs at the bottom of the screen; one is for the Play option, and the other for the Record option. We can record a message for maximum 10 seconds, fill in our age and gender, and then submit it; all done in three easy steps.
I don’t know if it is possible, but I think it will be really fun if we could somehow get out own personal statistics on how people guessed our age and gender. Wouldn’t it be nice to know how people perceive us just by listening to our voice?
On the whole, it is an entertaining app that also poses a challenge to our hearing skills. And this amazing app comes for free too, so get recording and listening to guess who said it.
