uSpell:iEvolve is a top-notch word game on the iPhone

It’s been quite a while since I’ve played a new word game, and I’m glad to have come across uSpell:iEvolve to remind me of how fun this genre is. This game from braynboxers somehow reminds me of Tetris; perhaps it is the way the letters fall down the screen. What we have to do is to form words out of the letters as quick as we can, before the whole board is filled, or before we run short of time.

To form words, we can tap on adjacent letters and double tap on the last letter in the word, or drag our finger over the letters to select them. All the letters have their own values, and each word is a whooper in scoring, as the letter values are multiplied by the length of the word. Added to this are power-ups which can double or triple the word score. There is also a bomb tile which when utilized in a word blows up all the tiles next to it.

We can play uSpell:iEvolve according to our own pace, whether it is Normal, Challenging or Insane. There are more choices in store with two other types of game play besides the first one which comes unlocked. In Freeplay, we have to come up with as many words as we can, while Timed puts us under pressure as we have just one minute to reach the target score.

In each level, we have to achieve the projected score within the time limit to progress to the next level. And as we move forward, with each level the target score increases and the time frame gets shorter; talk about pressure, this is it.

uSpell:iEvolve is Agon integrated, so that opens up a whole lot of challenges in the form of online leader boards and awards to achieve. With amazing graphics and interesting game play, uSpell:iEvolve is guaranteed to leave us word-bound.
