Apple has started sending out emails to all iPhone app developers to notify them that the company is now accepting iOS 4 compatible apps to makes its appearance in the App Store. Since the new iPhone OS is hitting the shelves very soon on June 21st, Apple wants to fill in the App store so that all iPhone4 buyers can start downloading apps straightaway.
iPhone developers will have to keep in mind the new iOS 4 multitasking feature and make all their existing apps usable for this particular feature. Although not a big task to make the necessary changes, it is possible that developers might feel it difficult to get their apps submitted and approved in time before June 21st. Few of the apps like Pandora and Foursquare were up and running well when tested with demos after the WWDC keynote address, so it shouldn’t be much of a problem in updating actually.
Also the other thing which bothers developers is that the huge in-rush of apps for review at the Apple office from various parts of the world has led to delay in app approval. Similar situation happens whenever any new Apple product pops up like the iPad and the 3GS. So all iPhone developers, keep your inbox open or simply start making your app iOS4 compatible and stay ahead of the competition!
