WWDC News:More on iAds – The Money Maker for iPhone Developers

iads-iphoneApple’s keynote at WWDC threw more light on much anticipated iAds. The iAds would help iPhone developers to make money by embedding advertising on the iPhone or iPad apps. The iAds will help iPhone developers to generate regular income with advertisement along with what they earn through selling their apps. The application developer would get 60% of the revenue generated by the ad.

When asked about the advertisers who are willing to participate in the iAds campaign, Steve Jobbs quoted “So let me tell you some of the brands that will be advertising with us. Nissan, Citi, Unilever, AT&T, Chanel, GE, Liberty Mutual, State Farm, Geico, Campbells, Sears, JC Penny, Target, Best Buy, Direct TV, TBS, and Disney… those are some of the brands.”

So with most of the big companies interested in the campaign, iAd is surely something to look out for every iPhone application developer. Google owned AdMob has already announced mobile ads compatible with iPhone SDK kit for developers last week. With two of the big giants competing to rule the mobile advertising industry iPhone application developers have more than a reason to cheer about.
