iPhone app review: Animal Color Cross is the next puzzle game you should be buying

animal-color-crossIf you have played Color Cross on the iPhone before, then this should be a familiar game for you. And even for those who have not had their hands on it, it is better late than never to discover something so much fun. The word ‘discover’ is right, for in Animal Color Cross, we get to play with colors and put together amazing animal pictures. The world is a grid in this game, and we have to fill each of these grids with different colors to solve the puzzles, a whooping 72 in all.
We are given two choices of game modes – Classic and Arcade. If we have any doubts about how to play the game, the tutorial is there to help us along. There is even a video to make things doubly easy for us. We don’t go about filling the grids randomly with just any color. There are numbers given at the tops and sides of the canvases which indicate the number of cells that we have to fill in with a specific color. If we make a make a misstep, we have to pay with a time penalty; a cross indicates that we made a mistake. Ouch!

Animal Color Cross lets us travel across five continents to discover animals from every nook and corner of the world. I found out that it gets progressively harder as we move on from one canvas to the next. The game catch word could possibly be ‘trial and error’; atleast that was how it was with me. All of our efforts are timed, so it’s not like we have all the time in the world to solve a puzzle. But it is elating when we can complete one, and Facebook is right there for us to blow our trumpets on.

The graphics in Animal Color Cross are slick and make the game play real smooth. I like how we can zoom in and out, and slide across the cells to fill in color. On the whole, I would say that you have to have this game from Little Worlds Studio. It is addictive and fun, and perfect to play anytime.
