iPhone App Review: Klondike Battle puts a new spin on solitaire

I’m sure that there are very few of us who haven’t played solitaire at some point or the other. It is one classic game which makes us lose track of time. For all the solitaire lovers and even for those who are yet to check it out, Klondike Battle should definitely be on their iPhones. This game from Nifty Inspirations combines solitaire and Russian Bank to come up with a new and interesting game version.

One of the best things that struck me immediately about this game is that we can play against an opponent, whether human or computer. A game is so much more interesting when we have some competition, and Klondike Battle cashes in on this factor.

To increase the skill factor, the game also has a time limit for the game play. This makes us think and make our moves faster, and makes the game more challenging. It is a race both against the clock and also against the opponent. If we want to take our own sweet time playing the game, we can choose to leave out this option.

We also have the options of four different difficulty levels. The online leader board shows us just where we stand in comparison to other players. The graphics complement the game play well, except that I found the cards a little too small to play with ease.

There are two other versions of Klondike Battle, but I must say this is the best. On the whole, it is a game that we want to keep playing once we get into it.
