This multi-faceted note app is surprisingly easy to use. I would have thought that an app that does so much would be somehow more complicated. But using it is as simple as tapping on the screen with two fingers, for that is how we start typing. Scrolling across the page also requires only two fingers, and just putting a finger to the screen allows us to make a handwritten note.
To zoom in on a note, we can pinch the screen and get smaller text. One of the features I especially like is shape recognition; simply draw a triangle, circle or rectangle, and the app produces a smooth replica of the shape for us.
The various ways of editing texts helps us to customize our notes just as we want it. For handwritten texts, we can choose how thick we want the lines to be, and also stroke opacity and color. As for typed texts, we can opt for a specific font type and color, and even the type of paper.
Notes Plus does not stop at written and typed note taking, but also enables us to record voice. It is as simple as tapping on the microphone icon to start and also to stop recording. To listen to the voice recording, we just have to make use of the play button that is attached to a note page.
The app also makes sharing our notes very convenient. We can export it to PDF or upload to Google Docs, making the whole process of distributing our notes stress-free. A cool feature is the palm pad, with which we can rest our palms on the screen and yet not make any unwanted strokes.
On the whole, Notes Plus is not only varied and unique in its features but works very well in practice, which is the true mark of an excellent app. It is priced at only $0.99, which I think is a real bargain; get it for the best note taking experience on the iPad ever.
