The rules are pretty simple but need to be understood with the short in game tutorial which also explains the gameplay. The rules and Help section forms an essential part of the game and are meant to help first time user understand the rules and objectives of the game. Word Vs Word is basically about finding a secret word by making guesses, marking your clues and finally figuring out the word with your language skills. The game can be played in solo mode as well as with any random player over the internet or by inviting your friends via email. You can chat with your online opponents while you challenge them in the game.
The player can select his difficulty level by choosing the number of letters (from 3-8) in the secret word randomly chosen by the iPhone. The player types using the keyboard at the bottom of the screen and can mark letters as bad or good for the secret word in the toggleboard at the top by tapping once or twice respectively. The words you have guessed are shown in the center of the screen along with the correct letters in each of them and appear as a scrollable list which can be used to see all words from the starting and make predictions. Marking each letter also changes their color on the input keyboard thus making it easier for player to notice words they need to include or exclude. On completion of the game or just leaving it you can have a look at the game history which shows statistics like number of games played for each word size, percentage of winning history, average guesses made and minimum guesses made to win the game.
Word Vs Word is much more fun than described above, its clean design and easy to use interface makes it much more appealing and worth playing for hours together. Word vs Word is a good example of games which offers high learning curve as well as fun factor blended together to bring a great game.
