iPhone Game Review – Link Mon Pro : Can you take the challenge ?

‘Simplicity drives engagement’ and that very true for puzzle games on any platform. We have been loving 3 & 4 in row games for decades. I still hang out with them in my free time, be it a coffee break or just after a short nap. Link Mon Pro, though the name looks complicated, the game is all about linking similar blocks together.

Link Mon Pro start with the basics and later moves to more advanced levels with higher density of blocks. Unfortunately there’s no help guide to start with but if you are  have played a couple of puzzle games earlier you will figure out how easy it is to just tap over the identical blocks and clear them off the board. The blocks are nothing but the monsters in different designs and colors which need to be completely eliminated from the board.

You can enjoy the game with 100 levels and four unique game modes – Basic, Wave,  Re-Gen and Blink. Basic game mode is will be the easiest of all and does not add additional challenges in the game. Though the basic game mode looks pretty simple to play initially, you will face challenges in the game including obstructions that block the path of linking lines, other blocks surrounding a block and complex paths which need a better alternative to overcome. The wave mode creates a wave like effect on the board making it difficult to concentrate on the board, the Re-Gen or regenerative mode will bring the cleared monsters back on the board after some time. You will need to be real fast and focused to be able to crack this mode. The developer even says that you will need to sacrifice your sleep to get it cleared. The fourth mode is the blink mode which turns a few blocks upside down every few seconds making you wonder what’s under each of them.

The game starts with beautiful background music and sound effects. You will like the monster styled and skeleton blended UI as well as scoring system that goes along with the theme of game. Link Mon Pro also integrates global scoring and ranking system to compete against the best players if you feel you are one of them.

Link Mon Pro  is a very challenging game you can try your hands on to test your skills and see the time fly. Link Mon Pro is available in both Pro(Paid) and lite(free) versions to match your try & buy style.
