App Store nearing one year of existence: Apple preparing for App Store anniversary event

If you have a good (Applish) memory, this particular day in in 2008 (July 7) was the last date for developers to submit their iPhone applications so they could be there when App Store launch. Apple's App Store went live on July 10, 2008 with few hundred applications on board. I remember downloading Super Monkey Ball, Aurora Feint, Tap Tap Revenge and other apps to have insufficient sleep for days thereafter.
