We all have waited long enough for MMS and Tethering to be enabled for iPhone users on AT&T network. Finally, AT&T has announced that MMS would be available for iPhone 3G and and iPhone 3GS users starting September 25. The company said the feature would be made available in a software update.
This is indeed a good news. However, availability of Tethering, the other feature of iPhone OS 3.0 update would further be delayed. The network carrier possibly is waiting for the complete roll out of the 850 MHz 3G, which they have already implemented in some major cities.
The reason AT&T Read More...
Various reports and surveys have suggested that people love the iPhone like nuts but hate AT&T like the worse of all enemies. I too never did deny AT&T's network coverage is patchy, sorry spotty.
Now, here is a very sad news. We may soon have no reasons to rant and whine about this exclusive iPhone carrier in the US. The wireless carrier has started rolling out the much talked about 850 MHz spectrum 3G band starting from Atlanta since last week.
Some satisfied customers have started shouting praises from San Francisco.
Good news for those who can't live a day without complaining is that Read More...
Who doesn't know that Apple's app approval process is not confusing. iPhone users and most importantly application developers are kept in the dark whenever an application or game is rejected. The company is also good at giving contentious justifications for the rejections we have known so far. Some are rejected outright while some are pulled after being deployed in the App Store.
Some of the reasons cited for rejection so far are; duplicating functionality, objectionable/inappropriate content, copyright infringement, offensive content, etc. The latest rejection of Google voice app also falls into the "duplicating features" group according to Apple, but the fact Read More...
Hmm, it's not only Canadians who are lucky. After Fido's move, AT&T is also offering refurbished iPhone 3G for $49 on two year contract.
If you've been planning to get the iPhone 3G, this would be the best deal ever. The offer is valid till stocks last. I am sure the stock is dwindling as you read this post.
This offer is a clear indication that the company is trying every means to clear inventory of the old model.
If you are thinking what refurbished iPhones are; well, those are the devices exchanged/returned before 15 days from the date of purchase due to Read More...
First generation iPhone users, listen to the preaching sound of Sprint coming from the wilderness of Palm (Pre).
Sprint does know that your contract term with AT&T would be ending soon and thus reminds you all to ditch the idevice, forget whatever is Apple, repent and get the Palm Pre. Sprint has used Facebook as the messenger this time.
"You can have a mighty fancy phone, but it’s only as good as the network it uses and the calling plans available to consumers. Look past the iHype and we think you’ll see a new Sprint with a strong network, appealing new phones Read More...
I have seen Apple's Voice Memo application in beta, but never tested the sound quality or the features as it was more fun bragging about the other iPhone OS 3.0 features.
The other reason was because I got a bunch of paid voice recorders, which I thought would be better than the free application that Apple is giving away. I happened to be wrong this time.
Today, I tested the application and made a quick voice quality comparison with other voice recorders. The recording test was a simple tapping on the screen and capturing the noise. Apple's Voice Memo captured the noise Read More...
The disappointment of MMS and tethering not coming on the launch date of iPhone OS 3.0 or iPhone 3G S for AT&T subscribers is just a trifle if you look at the pricing model of the iPhone 3G S. The pricing is unfair for people who have faithfully stick with the service provider for years.
Whenever, there is a new iPhone I am just tempted to grab it. Apple is becoming famous for introducing handy and tempting features with every hardware upgrade bit by bit. This is going to be the third time I won't be able to say no to Read More...
The other day I was telling Andrew how iPhone rumors are making my days restless and my dreams horrible. He told me that media attention Apple gets at present is enough to make the a cup of coffee boil without putting it on fire. Hmm, great comparison right?
WWDC 2009 starts from Monday and here is the latest speculation that Apple would introduce a cheaper version of the iPhone on the first day of the event. The same source claims that the move is to boost the company's market share in web-surfing devices.
This cheaper iPhone would be retailed either for $149 Read More...
Verizon may boast that it is the biggest cellular network in the US; AT&T too has got some reasons to boast now. Computerworld recently tested and announced that AT&T has got the fastest and most efficient network connectivity in the US.
Thanks to the iPhone again for forcing AT&T to implement network upgrades it has done so far. This is not the end, the network provider has plans to leave all its competitors behind with their latest proposal to upgrade its network to HSPA 7.2.
The latest upgrade plan also is related to the expected launch of the new iPhones. AT&T upgraded Read More...
The need to cut cost concerns us all now more than ever because of the present financial downturn. It never tickled my head that using an iPhone 3G would cost me $1,800 over the two year contract, the entry level being $69 per month. It does worry me now and I was thinking using one of the BlackBerry free handsets could be a better alternative to cut cost though I love the iPhone.
Seems Apple and AT&T too knows customers' concerns about cost and here is a speculation that there might be some modifications in the cost of monthly plans. Michael Read More...
How many of you would buy an iPhone if Apple or AT&T were to announce "Buy one get one FREE" offer. Yes, I see millions of raised hands out there. This is what exactly Verizon did with the BlackBerry phones when the handsets were not selling good. I say it's a good business strategy to force people spend when there is credit crunch. Apple might never do this though.
The aggressive buy one get one free offer on BlackBerries has turn out good for both RIM and Verizon. BlackBerry Curve has become the best selling smartphone in the US leaving the Read More...
If you have always wanted to own a legally unlocked iPhone 3G in the US, it is now possible to get one right away. Buy.com is offering legally unlocked iPhone 3G at $799. The unlocked device can be used on any of the GSM networks operating in the US.
I am sure, AT&T is not very happy about this latest development. Apple would be launching a new iPhone 3G this summer and the offering of never locked iPhones suggest that the company is trying every possible means to finish selling the iPhone 3G in stock.
The legally unlocked device can also be Read More...
