The much waited real battle of iPhone 3G and BlackBerry Thunder will be delayed till mid-November. What happened it was supposed to be officially launched by now? The Thunder is going through the process of 'technical acceptance' (TA) from Verizon.

Obviously, to beat the iPhone the Thunder will need a touchscreen. We’ve heard some promising rumors that the Thunder’s touchscreen will actually have a higher resolution than the iPhone. We’ve also heard whisperings about 3G service, faster web surfing and even GPS capabilities in the new Blackberry Thunder.

The touch screen device will sport a large 360-by-480 touch display on a glass surface similar to the original iPhone. The Thunder is expected to be a robust multimedia player, be able to record videos, and BB Sync said it will sport a carrier music store that will have over-the-air download capabilities. The handset also is expected to run OS 4.7, and could give Apple a real run for its money.
