Tris to be Pulled out of the App Store

Tris to be Pulled out of the App Store

Two developers deployed two look alike games on the App Store. The name of the games also sounds similar, one is Tetris and the other is Tris. The first game cost $9.99 and the second one is deployed for free. The free game (Tris) will no more be available on the App Store from 27th August as the developer of Tetris has asked the game to be taken down because of copyright infringement. This is what the developer of Tris wrote in his personal blog: Well — I've received notice from Apple that they've been contacted by The Tetris® Company about Tris. Read More...

Complete List of Removed Apps: App Store

Removing and restoring of applications on the App Store is an old story, but we are still trying to figure our exactly why apps are removed or restored. Apple’s Applications Kill Switch

Apple’s Applications Kill Switch

To battle with spyware, viruses, malware and any materials deemed indecent, Apple is moving ahead to implement kill switch mechanism. Kill switch will be able to snuff out offending applications installed on the device of users. Tightening the control rope on developers, Apple has planned even to revoke the license of developers on determining that any of the applications deployed by them are malicious. Revoking of license involves removing all signed up applications from the App Store of the concerned developer. Apple has the sole authority in making the decision on this. When the kill switch is implemented the users’ device will Read More...

App Store: Mysterious App disappearances

App Store: Mysterious App disappearances

Some apps have been pulled from the App Store already, including Box Office, Aurora Feint, and most recently, NetShare. I hope Apple doesn’t make a habit of removing apps suddenly, without notice or explanation. That would make the App Store a rather unreliable shopping place. You make a mental note of some products and shelves, and next time you're there everything’s changed. Not good for Apple if this keeps up, and certainly not good for the developers OR the customers. Complications are waiting to arise. What’s worrying is that there is no easy pattern one can see here. All disappearances have been under very different Read More...
