Drive a taxi to collect gold with TaxiDrive on the iPhone

Drive a taxi to collect gold with TaxiDrive on the iPhone

The game play is like iChase and Pac Man, the graphics are strikingly similar to Flight Control. However you are not on the flight control tower or in a maze. you are in the heart of New York City  driving a cab picking and dropping off passengers to earn those sweet smelling dollars. This is TaxiDrive from syncRage.  You've got a taxi, passengers are waiting out there to be picked and dropped, but NY street and the traffic system is not the best in the US. While you can make a fortune, there are downside too; the high probability of meeting Read More...

Touch’n Shake your iPhone for $0.99

Touch'n Shake your iPhone for $0.99

I paid $199 for my iPhone 3G 8GB and is still paying $30/month for owning this tilt and touch sensitive device.  To prove that the device indeed is sensitive, I paid $0.99 to get Touch'n and Shake on my iPhone. This application is supposed to be an entertainment application and I am trying my best to figure out how it probably had entertained me.  As the name suggest, all you have to do is shake or touch your iPhone while you run this application. Touch'n Shake is for testing your tapping and shaking speed, which I suggest would be ideal if you Read More...

iPhome 3G, the perfect clone of the iPhone 3G

iPhome 3G, the perfect clone of the iPhone 3G

If you think the name "iPhome 3G" is a typo, the direct response is a big "NO!" iPhome 3G is the latest iClone that beats all earlier iPhone clones such as the HiPhone, SciPhone, Meizu 8, etc. From the physical looks to the minute appearance of the icons, iPhome 3G is a perfect clone; all the way from China just for $179.  However, we shouldn't go either by the name or the description of the phone. iPhome 3G does not support either 3G or WiFi. The claim that it sports 8GB of storage cuts down to a mere 4GB.  On the good side, Read More...

Bomb defusing fun with Penguin Invasion on the iPhone

Bomb defusing fun with Penguin Invasion on the iPhone

I won't assume that the work of a bomb squad could be fun. However, a simple iPhone game, Penguin Invasion from Frogames is just fast and is an exciting game. It's all about defusing bombs. The story line of this simple game has a global warming message. The ice caps are melting and it has become a threat to the animals that have live there in the polar region for ages. The cause being a result of reckless and unchecked human exploitation of nature, the penguins are coming to attack human race. Complicated theme right, but the game is not that sophisticated.  The Read More...

Leaf Trombone: World Stage comes to the iPhone

Leaf Trombone: World Stage comes to the iPhone

Who could have possibly thought that a musical wind instrument could be made out of the iPhone? I seriously doubt whether Apple knew this can be done with their device. I still remember playing Ocarina on the iPhone for days when it was released. I was like a child playing with a new doll super excited. Victor did the same thing. The silly part is none of us has that musical talent, and we contribute nothing to the iPhone Ocarina community at the end. Yes, Smule showed something that we all didn't even imagine could be possible on the iPhone. The story does Read More...

iPhone 3G S activation could take more than 48 hours

You've got your new iPhone today? That's awesome. Now, what if it is not activated till Sunday? That would be like buying a new toy for your child and not allowing him to play with it right?  Appleinsider is reporting that this nightmare could be true as Apple's activation servers are fully loaded with hundreds and thousands of customers attempting to activate their new devices.  While trying to activate your iPhone, if you see a message in iTunes that reads: "Your activation requires additional time to complete. Due to the current activation volumes, it may take up to 48 hours to resolve Read More...

iPhone 3G S versus Palm Pre: Speed test

iPhone 3G S versus Palm Pre: Speed test

The iPhone 3G S just got launched and the usual unboxing and ripping open the guts to see the entrails have started. People are just too curious not to do that anyway.  However, I was more interested to know whether the iPhone 3G S is better or the Palm Pre. I found exactly what I was searching for, speed test of the two devices. There are many videos already in YouTube that presents the comparison test. I am particularly picking the browser test to keep things short.  Thanks to iPhone blog for posting the video and for proving that the iPhone 3G Read More...

Wait for iPhone 3.0 ends today and we are still waiting

Wait for iPhone 3.0 ends today and we are still waiting

I was kind of surprised when a friend of mine who hates Apple and even the iPhone asked me: "What time is the 3.0 releasing?" My reaction was a natural whatta...! Well, he doesn't even have an iPhone.  I totally agree that he could have heard about the iPhone 3.0, but what I don't understand here is why and how he got suddenly interested in the iPhone operating system. Maybe he has heard enough of the iPhone 3G S and the iPhone OS in his work place, in the streets and elsewhere. Anyways, that was a good shocker and this perhaps Read More...

iPhone music streaming app to rock you for hours: Travel Karaoke and Sing-A-Long

Good songs are like great dreams. They give you reason to smile, give you company when you are lonely and makes your energy flow when you are stressed. One reason why I love the iPhone is because of the huge space it provides for storing hundreds of songs. However, paying $0.99 or $1.25 for a song ain't so cheap if you want all the songs that you like in iTunes. Here is simple way out now, thanks to Lassiquendi for bringing out Travel Karaoke and Sing-A-Long. Travel Karaoke and Sing-A-Long is an iPhone application that brings more than a hundred of Read More...

iPhone OS 3.0 tip: How to force quit applications

iPhone OS 3.0 tip: How to force quit applications

If you are running iPhone OS 3.0 on your device already, you probably would have known by now that pressing the home button does not force quit applications anymore.  Pressing on the home button for more than six seconds activates voice control on the iPhone 3G S. The need to change came there.  Now if you want to force quit any applications that got stuck, press the sleep/wake button until the slide to power off screen appears and then press the home button until the application quits.  Those of you who are yet to upgrade, be informed about this slight change.
