Ideal ways to say the iPhone is GREAT! Microsoft and Sprint style

Ideal ways to say the iPhone is GREAT! Microsoft and Sprint style

Recently, Sprint's CEO Dan Hesse was asked whether Palm Pre is successfully competing with the iPhone. That was a very pointed question which could not be answered without stammering a bit. Dan did happen to stammer and responded something like, 'hmm, it's unfair to compare the two devices as they belong to separate categories.' The actual quote reads, "it's like comparing someone to Michael Jordan." So, Dan thinks that the iPhone is the Michael Jordan of smartphones, which is painfully true for Palm and other Apple competitors. Matter of fact is that the two devices belong to the same category called Read More...

Camera; the iPod nano gets it not the iPod touch

Camera; the iPod nano gets it not the iPod touch

Camera dream for the iTouch is shattered with all the expected features going to the iPod nano. However, it was good to see Steve Jobs back on stage if that could be any consolation to Apple fans and iPod touch worshippers. Steve Jobs did say something in an interview with New York Times' Pogue on why the camera feature was not given to the iPod touch. Jobs response harps on the fact that the iPod is sorta of the "lowest-cost way to the App Store," the iPod touch being considered seriously as a gaming machine. Steve Jobs also goes on to say Read More...

When Steve Jobs talk, it's extremely bad news or good news

Ahem! Steve Jobs have talked again and this time it's something good that we all yearned hearing long time back. It's about the much talked Apple Tablet. This abrasive Apple icon talks only when the situation darn pressing and urgent. Back in January, 2009 when the rumors of his illness was all over the Internet, Bloomsberg's reporter caught him unaware on his home phone prying about the matter. The response was something like, why don't you leave me alone? Well, all those speculations were not wrong. Steve Jobs indeed underwent a liver transplant.  Recently there have been a lot of rumors circulating about Read More...

Stop stealing my Apple into your Palm: Steve Jobs to Ed Colligan

Stop stealing my Apple into your Palm: Steve Jobs to Ed Colligan

Lately, there have been a lot of whispering about how Steve Jobs of Apple tried to persuade Ed Colligan of Palm to sign "Treaty of no cross recruitment," back in 2007. That was the time when Apple had successfully launched their first generation iPhone and Rubinstein jumped over to Palm from Apple.  The communication between the two would not have happened if Rubinstein had restrained from calling over others from Apple to join him at Palm. Colligan did the right thing in refusing to agree with Jobs' Proposal, citing that it'd be "Illegal" to have such an understanding between two future Read More...

Apple iPod and iTunes Event 2009

If you go by logic, you'd probably say this year's iPod and iTunes event is going to be on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. You were all right, when you cried Eric Schmidt should resign from Apple Board.  Apple has Safari, Google introduced their Chrome, Apple has iPhone OS X, Google has their own Android. Finally, Apple has Mac OS X, Google would be launching their Chrome OS soon. These two companies are going to aggressively compete with each other like never before. Eric Schmidt still sitting as the board member at Apple has been much debated in view of the conflict of interest between the two companies.  As expected Eric Schmidt has finally resigned from his position on Apple's Board.  Schmidt joined Apple's Board in 2006. iPhone 3GS sales going good in Japan

iPhone 3GS sales going good in Japan

One million iPhone 3GS were sold in just three days, that, I say again was a marketing and business stunt. Many skeptics have become pro Apple with the launch of the iPhone 3GS.  The good news for Apple continues to pour in. This time, it is from the far east where iPhone 3G failed to win many converts. We reported that the Japs were more for fancy devices that look more sophisticated than the iPhone. Sales figure of the iPhone 3G in Japan was not good. Apple's optimism has prevailed over the skepticism of the fancy device lovers out there finally. The Read More...

Steve Jobs versus Rubinstein; Palm Pre versus iPhone 3G S

Steve Jobs versus Rubinstein; Palm Pre versus iPhone 3G S

The board of directors at Palm has made it official that Jon Rubinstein is the new CEO of the company to replace Ed Colligan. Ed Colligan stepped down after sixteen years of service to the company. Palm is grateful about the contribution of Rubinstien in bringing back a streak of hope to the company in the shape of Pre.  Rubinstein was the former head of iPod hardware thus a confidante of Jobs and Apple. Rubinstein used his iPod days memories to create the Pre, which now is considered as the real competitor of the iPhone 3G S.  Now, with Rubinstein as the new Read More...
