On a very optimistic note I do want to charge my phone (iPhone) anywhere with any phone charger. It's a wild dream for now, but come January 2012, if what the 17 mobile operators and manufacturers' commitment comes true we'll see only one common charger for all mobile phones on this earth. At present, the concept is somewhat like one mobile one charger, which contributes to churning out more than 51 thousand tons of waste a year.
The companies committed to the cause of implementing Universal Charging Solution are AT&T, KTF, LG, mobilkom austria, Motorola, Nokia, Orange, Qualcomm, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Read More...
The Google experience on the iPhone has just gone one notch ahead. According to a post in the Google mobile site by Steve Kanefsky and Rob Stacey, Software engineers of the Google Mobile Team, Google has now refined the search experience for even better results for the iPhone and also for the G1.
Some nifty features to make search an enjoyable experience:
1. Touchscreen-friendly buttons
2. Expandable maps for local business results.
3. The “Classic” link at the bottom of the pages to view the desktop search result pages.
The only downside is that so far it is available in only English. That should change Read More...

Are there iPhone killers prowling around in the open? By the look of things, there is not a single device that might pack the punch to dethrone the mighty iPhone. But the combined force of these marauders might be a cause of concern for the iPhone and Apple.
Who are the prowlers? Nokia, Samsung, LG, HTC and the series of other Google phones.
Well, it seems that it is the series, rather the legion of Google phones that is most likely to “kill” the iPhone, if at all.
And the first one of the legion, the "Dream" is out. The Google powered, T-Mobile Read More...
Looks like Apple’s iPhone has some competition coming in. According to a report in the Wall Street Journal the first Google powered smartphone will have an initial retail value of $199.
This touch-screen smartphone, with an additional sliding physical keyboard, is expected to face steep competition though. Not only from Apple’s darling device, but also from Palm and Samsung whose entry level smartphones are priced at $100.
Meanwhile, T-Mobile, the carrier of the first Google OS run smartphone is expected to reveal the HTC to an expectant audience on Tuesday, in Manhattan.
New York City, September 23, 2008 is the place and time T-Mobile is scheduled to launch the the first Google Android phone. The phone as we all have heard has a full touch screen functionality.
The press announcement comes as a surprise, but due to many media photo leaks and rumors the day will come as no major surprise, I miss secret Apple events here. The launch will bring the HTC Dream as G1 under T-Mobile and will be a direct competitor to all touchscreen devices including the iPhone.
Users even have the choice to slide out the main screen to use Read More...

First of all, lets get it right: T-Mobile’s App Store will not be a single store like Apple’s. Instead, it will be a chain of stores, each of which will cater to a specific device. You can’t really expect very different devices, running on very different platforms ranging from Android to Windows Mobile to just about anything, to have any soft of compatibility in common.
The software aside, even the hardware is going to pose some really daunting challenges. With each device has sporting different graphics capabilities, different processing powers, a variety of screen resolutions and screen sizes, even displaying the Read More...
It’s been a long time coming, but we’re glad its happening. T-Mobile is working on an App Store clone. Apparently, the store will allow all T-Mobile users, irrespective of the device they use, to purchase apps from this “t store”. So there’ll be an SDK, there will be an app submission, pricing, and revenue process for developers, the works.
The payment will be a little more complicated than Apple’s straightforward, no questions asked 30% commission. But it will still be generously rewarding for the developers. And a developer site is already in place.
For T-Mobile, which has only about 31.5 million subscribers against Read More...
Continuing with the expansion of offering the iPhone through multiple carriers, here is more addition to the list with Poland. T-Mobile and Orange are not going to be the only carriers to bring iPhone to Poland.
There is this rumor going around here that Polkomtel and P4 are also vying to bring the handset to Poland. As Vodafone is a major stakeholder of Polkomtel, the decision really lies on Vodafone. For P4, in order to sell the 3G iPhone, it first needs to upgrade their internet device to be compatible with the fast internet network connection required for 3G devices.

iPhone makes its international debut today. The long wait for Apple fanatics worldwide has come to an end. However, the device is not being released in 70 countries as part of the July worldwide rollout.
Apple continues its stratagem of locking its device exclusively to a single telecom carrier in most of the countries. The iPhone service providers are AT & T in the United States, O2 in Great Britain, T_Mobile in Germany, and Orange in France.
Due to time differences, iPhones are on sale first in New Zealand, later Australia, then Japan and Hongkong.
